Hazel R Baker

Hazel R. Baker, 96, of Sewell, formally of Deptford, NJ died May 23, 2011 at Shady Lane Nursing Home. She was born in Woodbury, NJ residing in Deptford for 75 years before moving to Sewell in 2005. Hazel and her late husband Samuel, operated a poultry farm in Deptford for many years, selling eggs to local residents. Hazel was a member of "The Zodiac Club" in Deptford Township. She attended New Sharon United Methodist Church in Deptford since age 3 and was an active member of the church for many years. Hazel lived a very happy life and loved all her family. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel, after 69 years of marriage.

Hazel is survived by a son, Samuel H. Baker Jr. (Kathryn) of Ocean View, NJ; 2 daughters, Doris Philippi and Joan Pratt both of Sewell, NJ; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren with another due in September.

Visitation Friday 9am until the services at 11am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. Interment Bethel Cemetery Hurffville, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New Sharon United Methodist Church 1831 Delsea Dr. Deptford, NJ.
