John P. Doner

John P. Doner, 65, of Washington Township, NJ

John Phillips Doner, husband of the late Faye (nee: Nelson), passed away on Wednesday, February 4th at the Samaritan Hospice unit of Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ. He is survived by son Everett Lawrence Doner of El Cerrito, CA; daughter Minda Luree Doner of Mickelton, NJ; & by brothers Michael of Medina, OH & David of Gainesville, FL.

John was a research chemist for 30 years with Mobil and ExxonMobil, held nearly 20 patents related to the design and manufacture of lubricating greases, and was featured in a national TV ad in 1996. He received numerous industry awards for his work. He was also an active church member and Elder at the Presbyterian Church at Woodbury, NJ.

The first child of Jeanne Phillips Roser and Dale Doner, John was born and raised in Ohio. He earned a BA in Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University and served in the US army. His passions included travel, photography, and teaching; he excelled at explaining complex subjects in a clear manner, and was known for his patience & kindness to all.

Family & friends are invited Sat. Feb. 14th 9:30am with the Service at 10am at Presbyterian Church at Woodbury under the direction of DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ.
