Margaret R. Ware

Margaret Russell Ware, 75, of Pitman, passed peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on Monday, June 21, 2022. Margaret was born in Sheboygan, WI, and raised in Pitman and Woodbury, NJ. Having graduated from Woodbury High School and West Virginia University, she devoted her early career to serving as a social worker, caring for her family, and operating a sewing and crafts business. For many years thereafter, Margaret had been a familiar face at the McCowan Memorial Library in Pitman. There she valued not only the books on the shelves, but also the deep friendships with coworkers and community members. Unbeknownst to many, Margaret was a talented knitter, baker, and humorist who stirred up some of the very best wool hats, blueberry muffins, and laughs. She will be dearly missed, and will be remembered for her humility and kindness, wry sense of humor, and enduring commitment to family and close friends.
Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband, Douglas, and her parents Harold and June Russell. She leaves behind her sisters Beth (Dean, dec.) and Jenny (H.); sons Douglas (Elizabeth), Matthew, and Nathan (Dina); grandchildren Charli, Jace, and Frankie; brother and sister-in-law Reade and Joyce; nieces, nephews, and their families; and beloved dog Reddington.
