Adam H. 'Buddy' Fachinger

Adam H. "Buddy" Fachinger, 98, passed away on September 17, 2020. Adam was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a true gentleman who loved a good laugh. He was born in Lanesville, Indiana and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII in the Mediterranean on the destroyer USS Bernadou (DD-153). In 1946 he started his 37-year career with Septa and married the love of his life, Dawn Mae Jones, while living in Philadelphia. They were married for 67 years. Adam and Dawn moved to West Deptford in 1968 and joined the Colonial Manor Methodist Church where he served as treasurer. Later, they moved to Leisuretowne and joined the Vincentown UMC where they made many friends. Adam & Dawn moved to Mantua in 2007 and became members of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Heights. Adam loved playing card games, doing puzzles, watching old western movies, and eating a good slice of pie. He was thankful for the care given to him at Shady Lane where he will be deeply missed.
Adam was predeceased by his wife Dawn; sisters Rose Hussung & Mary Allen and son-in-law Bill Zane. He is survived by his daughters Nancy Zane of Mickleton & Cindy (Simon) Muench of Germany; sister Evelyn Blum of Lanesville, IN; granddaughters Kristina (Terry) Lott of Mickleton & Calli Moran of Texas; and great grandsons Adam & Alex.
Visitation 10am Wednesday until the service at 11am DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
