December 12, 0938 — August 29, 2025

Clarksboro

Barbara T. Etschman (nee Saskiewicz), 86, of Clarksboro, passed away on August 29, 2025. Barbara was born and raised in the Bridesburg community in Philadelphia where she met her future husband at the local dances; she loved to attend where they showed off their fancy footwork. Their specialty was the jitterbug, and they raised their family together in Woodbury Heights where they danced in the living room. She was a legal secretary for Moore, James Wright & Gibbons in Philadelphia and a medical secretary for Faith Walsh, MD in Woodbury.

Barbara was predeceased by brothers Benjamin & Frank Saskiewicz of Bridesburg; her husband Richard R. Etschman, and her daughter Laurie Meyer. She is survived by her son Richard W. Etschman of Franklinville and her daughter Joanne Etschman-Stone of Woodbury; grandchildren Stephanie Meyer (Derek Palladino), Andrea Spaho, Zachary Etschman, Jake & Jayden Stone, Jason Noonan and his father Michael Noonan; niece Theresa Saskiewicz and nephew Timothy Saskiewicz; and four great-grandchildren.

Barbara was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society support group in Sicklerville, NJ. Barbara lived her life anchored in her Catholic faith, bolstered by Polish humor and family, the many friends she made at St. Margaret Church and her pedal partners through the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. She lived with MS for 55 years – she loved to learn about scientific innovation and participate in research, new treatments, and studies. Her highest wish was to see a cure developed for MS.
