Benita R. Wood

Benita R. Wood (nee Franchetta), 99, of Bellmawr, left this world on October 3, 2025 and now lives in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Benita was born in Philadelphia and resided in Deptford and Mantua before moving to Bellmawr. She was a telephone operator for New Jersey Bell in Camden for 25 years, retiring in 1989. Following retirement, Benita found great joy in taking care of people. She was a member of the Seniors Club of Laurel Hill, the Faithful Followers, Keen-Agers, Bellmawr Seniors and JOY (Just Older Youth). Benita found family and a place to serve in each church she attended: Calvary Bible Church in Deptford, Westville Church and was most recently actively involved in the Highland Park Church of God.

Benita was predeceased by her son William A. Wood in 2008 and husband, Cliff Angleman. She is survived by her two granddaughters Kim Wood and Denise Wood; great-grandchildren: Charles (Kayte), Andrew (Michelle), Tyree, Jayden, Mia, Miranda, Kyle, Devon, Darnell and Kaden; and 5 great-great grandchildren. In addition, Benita “adopted” many others who lovingly called her Mom and Grandmom.

A time of visitation will be held on October 8th, 11:30 am – 1:00 pm followed by a celebration of Benita’s life at 1:00 p.m. at the Highland Park Church of God, 111 Baynes Avenue Gloucester City, NJ 08030 under the direction of DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware Street Woodbury, NJ 08096.
