Carmelita Aseron

Carmelita “Jingkie” Aseron (née Arriola), 87, formerly of Marlton, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026. Carmelita was born in Quezon City, Philippines, and studied at the University of Santo Tomas, where she met her husband, Rey. She came to the United States in 1960 to join him and continue her training as a medical technician in Jacksonville, FL. After marrying in 1964, they returned to the Philippines in 1968, then immigrated to the United States, where they lived and worked in New York and West Virginia before settling in Southern Jersey in 1972. She was a "jack of all trades," having worked as a medical technician, a florist, a realtor, and a bank teller. Carmelita was a lifetime member of the Philippine Community of Southern New Jersey, where she served as the 2000–2001 president. She had many hobbies, including dancing, painting, piano playing, and jewelry-making. Carmelita will always be remembered as the sunshine of her family – her vibrant spirit, infectious joy, and life-giving presence that brought warmth, laughter and light to everyone around her. She will also be remembered as a wonderful cook, especially for her scrumptious lumpia (Filipino eggrolls) — so much so that she was featured several times on the Lenape High School District TV Network with a cooking show featuring Filipino cuisine.

Carmelita is survived by her husband of 62 years Dr. Reynaldo Aseron; daughters Carmen (Christopher) Lynch of Burke, VA and Maria (Ronald) Ramos of Mt. Royal, NJ; grandchildren Kayleen (Ezzat Izzuddin) Lynch, Camille (Eli) De Leon, Kelsey (Julian) Gunnison, Bryan Lynch & Jacquelyn Ramos; and her great grandchildren Kimberly, Elaya, and Jozie Ezzat & Khai Gunnison; and many, many loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Felipe and Carmen Arriola, and siblings Belen Victoriano, Leticia Villanueva & Jose Arriola.

Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday August 10th at the DAVIS AND WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 171 Delaware St., Woodbury, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am, Tuesday August 11th at the Church of the Incarnation 240 Main St., Mantua, NJ. Interment immediately following at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
