Catherine Kalipetis-Stone

January 11, 1958 — November 2, 2025

Vineland

Catherine Kalipetis-Stone fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday November the second at Cooper University Hospital after a brief battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. Born in Fort Lee to Evangeline and George Kalipetis, she grew up the middle child to her older sister Maria and her younger brother Andrew, surrounded by a large extended Greek family. In 1998 she moved with her first husband and children to Middletown and in 2007 moved with her children to Wildwood where she spent every free minute she had at the beach.

While her life was cut short by a cruel and unforgiving illness, her life was full enough that capturing who she was in an obituary is difficult. She was a proud longtime member of AFSCME where she served as a shop steward and elected leader of local 3569, a pet parent, a CNA for many years, most recently at the Veteran’s Memorial Home in Vineland, a mom to four kids, a proud yiayia, a wife, an aunt, a huge Pink Floyd fan and a lover of all things Halloween (the irony is not lost on us.) Her first love was working with kids with disabilities and while she worked many different jobs over her life, she always did work that took care of others.

Cathie left this world far too soon. She leaves behind her kids and their partners Evangelia Stone and Preston Scully-Wolfe, Melanie Lowe (neé Stone) and Chad Lowe, Arianna Van Den Acre (neé Stone) and Chris Van Den Acre, and Logan Stone, her niece Eva, her great niece Kaila and great nephew Jacob, her grandchildren Phoebe and Theodore Lowe, her beloved husband David Belmont and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and union siblings. In honor of Cathie the family asks that you do what you can to find joy in your daily life, even when it’s hard – laugh a little too loud, lend a helping hand where you can, fight for your fellow workers, wear purple even when it’s inappropriate and listen to Pink Floyd.
