Generoso B. Gabriel MD, 76 of Deptford joined our Lord on February 20 2026. Gene was born in Cebu City Philippines and came to the United States and resided in Edison, NJ before moving to Deptford in 2001. He graduated at Cebu Institute of Medicine in 1973, was 7th place Philippine Physician’s Board Examination in 1974. He was the Co-founder and Past Chairman of the Christian Society for Prevention of Blindness and Rehabilitation for the Blind Davao, Philippines (affiliated with Hildesheimer Blindenmission of the Lutheran West Germany); Department Head EENT Davao Regional Hospital Philippines, Department Head/Surgeon Ophthalmology Department Majuro Hospital Marshall Islands; International member of American Academy of Ophthalmology 1988; Diplomate, Philippine Board of Ophthalmology 1982; Medical Specialists Eye, Ear, Nose, Throat 1980 Philippines. He retired as an LPN at Shady Lane Nursing Home in Clarksboro New Jersey. As a founding member of his band The Cult of ZYXN, God and Protector of Pallbearers and Debouchers of the Undead, he played the lead guitar and vocals.
Gene is survived by his wife of 46 years Norah Garay Gabriel and his children Vincent Gabriel of Deptford, Andre Gabriel MD and his wife Jacklin Gabriel of Wenonah, Katrina Millado and her husband Jeremy Millado of Blackwood and his brothers and sister in-laws Franklin and Charito Gabriel, George and Janet Gabriel, Raul and Salome Gabriel. He was predeceased by his brother Roberto and sister in-law Anita Gabriel, his sister Gloria and brother-in-law Alexandro Nabua.
The family is requesting everyone to wear white to the visitation 9 to 10:30 am Saturday February 28th at the DAVIS AND WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 am at Holy Angels Parish, St. Matthew Church 331 Wesley Avenue National Park, NJ 08063.
