Gerald “Jerry” Francis Hall, aged 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025. Jerry was born in Philadelphia, PA to Elias and Anne on June 26, 1945. He was the second of four children and spent his childhood in both Philadelphia and southern New Jersey, before eventually settling in Westville, New Jersey, where he lived for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sheryl; his children, Gerald E. (Jennifer), Sherri (Robert), and Julie; his stepson, Michael; his granddaughters, Madailein and Emerson; and his brother, Dennis (Karen). He is preceded in death by his brothers, James (Carol) and Ronald, and his stepson, Thomas.

Jerry worked for a time as a mechanic at Potamkin Chevy before being drafted in 1966 and serving for two years in the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corps, which specialized in providing critical communications and information systems that supported both U.S. and Allied forces during the war. After he was honorably discharged from the military, he resumed work as a mechanic before he began working with Bell Telephone Company in 1969. Jerry worked at Bell (which later became Verizon) as an installer and construction splicer for 40 years before retiring in 2009.

He also spent many years of his life working as a volunteer firefighter in Westville, where he joined the Union Fire Company in December 1975, the Life Member Union in 1983, and eventually served as Fire Commissioner for Westville Fire District No. 1 from 1991 to 1996. In addition to firefighting, Jerry also greatly enjoyed vintage cars and regularly attended car shows throughout his life, in addition to collecting vintage car miniatures, which he’d proudly displayed in his home.
