James Neal, Jr.

June 13, 1927 — May 7, 2023

James Neal Jr., 95, of Woodbury, passed away on May 7, 2023. Jimmy was born in Colonial Manor and has resided in Woodbury for 73 years. Jimmy served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of Friendship Fire Co. in Woodbury for 73 years, receiving the Fireman of the Year in 1994 & the City of Woodbury Proclamation Celebration for holding the longest record of service & oldest living member in September 2022. He worked for Friehofers Bread Co., Haines Dairy Farm and Esso & Sinclair gas stations before retiring in 1990 from Friends Hospital in Philadelphia after 30 years. Jimmy enjoyed camping, boating and spending time with his family.

Jimmy was predeceased by his wife Ruth; brothers John & Robert; sisters Janet & Catherine and grandchildren James & Katherine. He is survived by his daughters Ruthie (James) Norris, Nancy (Andrew) Gargiulo & Kathleen Powell; grandchildren Emily K., Jesse & Jason, Andrew & Aaron and Patrick & Shawn and great grandchildren Nora Grace, Matthew, Emma, Charlotte, Colby, Aria & Olivia.

Visitation 10am Thursday May 25th until the memorial service at 12pm at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME, 171 Delaware St., Woodbury, NJ. Inurnment with Military Honor Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friendship Fire Co. 29 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ 08096.
