Jeffrey “Jeff” Alan Daley passed away on January 21, 2026, after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Born in Woodbury, New Jersey, Jeff was a distinguished graduate of Glen Burnie High School. At 18, he was drafted and proudly served his country in Germany. After returning home, he attended the University of Maryland. Jeff went on to enjoy a fulfilling career as a chemical engineer at General Electric for over 20 years, later working at XPO Logistics, where he brought his intelligence, patience, and problem-solving skills to operating complex machinery.

Jeff’s passions extended far beyond his professional life. He was brilliantly curious and endlessly fascinated by how things worked. An avid electronics enthusiast, he loved tinkering, taking things apart, examining every piece, and carefully putting them back together, often better than before. He was also a lifelong reader whose interests spanned many genres. His family fondly recalls that he had finished The Lord of the Rings when he was little, long before it became widely popular.

An accomplished musician, Jeff excelled at guitar and was a devoted music lover. He also enjoyed swimming, jogging, and dancing, earning him the affectionate nickname “the Dancing Daley.” A loyal and passionate sports fan, Jeff’s knowledge of his beloved Baltimore Orioles was unmatched, and he was also a longtime New England Patriots supporter, well before the Brady era.

Jeff had an incredibly generous heart and volunteered for many years with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping bring moments of joy to children and their families.

Of all his accomplishments, Jeff was proudest of his daughters, Eileen (Charley Shippee) and Allie, who meant the world to him. He was the greatest father, always offering a listening ear, gentle encouragement, endless patience, and unconditional love.

In addition to his daughters, he is survived by his brothers, Frank and Michael, his sister Kathy, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jules and Derek.
