Mary “Missy” Houston (née Neagle), 79, of West Deptford, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Mary spent 43 years in Magnolia, New Jersey, before moving to West Deptford in 2024. She dedicated many years of service to Worldwide Flight Services at Philadelphia International Airport, where her strong work ethic, kindness, and caring nature reflected the values she carried throughout her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Houston, in 2017, and her brother, Francis Xavier Neagle. She is survived by her loving sons, Brian Hanrahan (Tatiana Narvaez) of Odessa, Florida, and Kevin Hanrahan (Angela Gonzalez) of West Deptford, New Jersey; the father of her children and lifelong friend, Edward Hanrahan; her siblings, Thomas (Barbara) Neagle Jr., Martin (Christine) Neagle, Christopher (Sally) Neagle, Peter (Karen) Neagle, Mary de Paul (Tim) Neagle, and Anthony (Carol) Neagle; her cherished grandchildren, Connor and Brayden Hanrahan, Ashley Vogler, Dominic and Isabella Gonzalez, and Paris Guarino; and her great-granddaughter, Elliana Spencer. Alongside her family, Mary shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Maddie, whose loyal companionship brought her comfort, joy, and countless cherished moments. Maddie was never far from her side and was a constant source of love and companionship for the past 9 years.
Mary’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, extraordinary Nana, caring sister, amazing aunt, and loyal friend who found genuine happiness in caring for others. Whether helping raise her grandchildren, lending a hand to family and friends, or extending kindness to someone she had just met, Mary’s generosity knew no bounds. Her home was always open, her heart was always full, and she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Those who knew Mary will remember a woman whose heart was always open to others. Her unconditional love, boundless generosity, and quiet selflessness shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She never hesitated to put family, friends, and even strangers before herself. Her legacy is found not only in the family she cherished, but also in the countless lives she touched through her compassion, strength, and unwavering kindness. The values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she shared will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and all who were blessed to know her for generations to come.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life honoring Mary at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The gathering will take place at 1333 Raphael Place, West Deptford, New Jersey 08096. All are welcome to attend and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that reflects Mary’s compassionate and giving spirit.
