Wayne D. Hires Sr

Wayne D. Hires Sr., 76, a lifetime resident of West Deptford, passed away on January 28, 2017. Wayne joined the West Deptford Police Department in 1963 and retired as Chief after 8 years in 1989. He was a member of the Gloucester County Police Chiefs Association. He graduated from Paulsboro High School in 1960; Gloucester County College in 1971; Glassboro State in 1973 and attended the FBI Academy in 1981.
Wayne was predeceased by his wife Elaine & his daughter Denise Hires. He is survived by his son Wayne D. Hires Jr. (Ann) of West Deptford; stepsons Charles W. Boyle (Stephen Dionne) & William R. Boyle Sr. (Laureen); fianc Dee Heck; grandchildren Savannah (Dylan) Clarke, Jack Dunn, William R. Boyle Jr., Wayne D. Hires III and Matthew J. & Melissa J. Hires and great grandsons Maverick & Elliot.

Visitation Wednesday 6 to 8pm and Thursday 10am until the service at 11am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bayada Hospice 608 N. Broad St. Woodbury, NJ 08096. Memories & condolences may be shared at daviswagner.com
