William H. Allen Sr

William H. Allen Sr., 88, of Thorofare, passed away on June 1, 2016. Bill was born in Jefferson, NJ and has resided in Thorofare since 1970. He was a truck driver for Chemical Lehman Tank Lines, Bridgeton for 30 years, retiring in 1992. Bill served in the US Merchant Marines during WWII and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 32 years. He was a member of the Masonic Florence Lodge F&AM.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Elaine (nee West) in 2015 and sister Dorothy Gilmore. He is survived by his children William H. Jr. (Francis) of Mantua, Cynthia L. (Allan) Edmund of Mays Landing, Victoria L. Allen of West Deptford, Dawn (Lee) Brown of West Deptford, Glenn Allen of West Deptford, Holli (John) Magill of Audubon & April (Scott) Smith of National Park; brother Linwood S. Allen Jr. of Mantua; 15 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation Sunday 6 to 8pm & Monday 10am until the service at 11am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. Interment with Military Honor Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memories and condolences shared at daviswagner.com
